How We Scored the Leaderboard
Every position on this board is defended by the same five-point scoring rubric: COA availability (is a certificate posted at all?), third-party verification (is the issuing lab independent and named?), testing method depth (does the COA include HPLC purity percentage plus mass spectrometry identity confirmation?), lot-level traceability (does the COA match a specific batch number on the product page?), and policy transparency (does the vendor publish a clear retesting or dispute policy?). Each criterion is worth up to 20 points, for a maximum score of 100.
Vendors were evaluated based on publicly accessible product pages, downloadable COA documents, and stated testing policies as of mid-2025. No vendor paid for placement. A vendor with a COA that lists only a generic purity figure without a named lab or a lot number scores zero on third-party verification and lot-level traceability, regardless of how polished its website looks.
One clarification before the rankings: research peptides sold by these vendors are not FDA-approved drugs. Where a peptide shares a name with an approved pharmaceutical compound, such as semaglutide (sold as Wegovy and Ozempic) or bremelanotide (sold as Vyleesi), the approval belongs to the branded prescription product, not to any research-chemical version. These rankings cover only documentation quality, not safety or efficacy claims.

Lot numbers on the COA match the lot numbers printed on physical vials, giving buyers a direct chain of custody. Second, the retesting policy is not explicitly stated in a findable FAQ or policy page, which costs points on policy transparency. The underlying testing quality is solid, but the documentation presentation needs work to climb the board.

What Does a Legitimate COA Actually Contain?
A certificate of analysis is only as useful as the information inside it. A legitimate third-party COA for a research peptide should include the name and contact information of the issuing laboratory, the date of analysis, the lot or batch number that matches the product packaging, an HPLC purity result expressed as a percentage, a mass spectrometry result confirming the molecular weight of the compound, and the name of the compound tested. Documents missing any of those elements leave meaningful gaps in the verification chain.
HPLC, or high-performance liquid chromatography, separates the components of a sample and measures their relative proportions. A result of 99 percent purity means 99 percent of the detectable material in the sample elutes at the expected retention time. Confirm the lot number on the certificate matches whatever lot number appears on the product listing or is stated as the current batch. Check the date: a COA older than 12 to 18 months for a product that has been restocked is a yellow flag worth investigating.
Check the testing methods listed. If the document shows only HPLC without mass spectrometry, the identity of the compound has not been independently confirmed, only its purity relative to other detectable material. If the document is an image file with no readable metadata, consider whether the data can be independently verified.
